Data deletion.
How to have your data deleted from Della.
Della answers calls and messages on behalf of the businesses you contact. If you want the data from those conversations deleted, here is exactly how.
If you called or messaged a business that uses Della
This includes phone calls, texts, emails, web chat, and messages sent on Instagram, WhatsApp, or Telegram.
- Email support@hellodella.com with the subject line "Data deletion request".
- Tell us the business you contacted and the contact handle you used — the phone number you called or texted from, the email address you wrote from, or your Instagram, WhatsApp, or Telegram username. That handle is how we find your records, and it is also how we verify the request is yours: we will confirm through that same channel before deleting.
- We delete the conversation records, contact entry, and any drafts or notes tied to that handle, and confirm back to you. Requests are completed within 30 days.
You can also ask the business directly — as our client, they can instruct us to delete your records, and many requests are fastest that way.
If you messaged on Instagram or WhatsApp
Deleting a message inside the Instagram or WhatsApp app removes it from that platform, but a copy may already have been processed by Della on the business's behalf. To remove Della's copy, follow the steps above and include your Instagram username or WhatsApp phone number. Meta's own handling of your data is governed by Meta's privacy policy.
If you are a business with a Della account
Email support@hellodella.com and we will send you your complete record — every conversation, call and appointment — or delete it. If you close your account, we delete your data, including your customers' conversations, within 30 days.
What we may retain
We keep only what the law requires us to keep — for example, specific audit logs mandated by healthcare regulations, or billing records required for tax purposes. Anything retained for a legal obligation is kept only as long as that obligation lasts and is not used for any other purpose.
More detail on what we collect and why is in our privacy policy.
